This website has been created in honor of Stewart Willard to increase awareness of childhood cancer and in particular, Non-Hodkins Lymphoma in adolescents. Stewart was an active 14 year old boy, playing soccer on two teams and enjoying his last year of middle school. His family never dreamed that a cancerous mass was growing in his chest, compressing his pulmonary arteries and esophagus. But after being diagnosed on April 9th, 2009, with Non-Hodgkins Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, and now with the excellent care of his Duke Hospital medical team, he is on his way to a cure.
Many people have asked what they can do for Stewart and his family. A medical fund has been established to help with expenses incurred during his treatment. Stewart also would like to help others who might be suffering from this life changing disease. If you wish to make a contribution to this fund, click on the Donations link. The money received will be used to help with Stewart's care and treatment. Any funds collected and not used for Stewart's direct benefit will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Me Fine Foundation.
